AGENDA RE PORT
C = TY OF MOORPARK
TO: The Honorable City Council
FROM: Kenneth C. Gilbert, Director of Public Works
DATE: March 9, 1993 (Council Meeting 3- 17 -93)
SUBJECT: Consider Resolution No. Establishing NO STOPPING
ANYTIME Zones on Both Sides of Shakespeare Place Between
Collins Drive and Doris Court
DISCUSSION
.
The City has established ONE HOUR parking zones (permitted
vehicles exempt) on certain streets in the vicinity of Moorpark
College. This action was taken in order to resolve problems
caused by student parking in residential neighborhoods.
B. Shakespeare Place
It has been brought to the attention of the City that a similar
problem is occurring on the subject segment of Shakespeare
Place. Parking in this area causes viability problems for
vehicles entering and exiting the residential neighborhood. It
is recommended that parking and stopping be prohibited. In
that no residences front this segment of street, there would be
no need for the issuing of parking permits.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached
resolution establishing NO STOPPING ANYTIME zones on Shakespeare
Place.
