The gardeners of the Moorpark Community Garden would like to
r -(,juest that our Garden be placed on the agenda for Wednesday,
{.Ze 2, 1993 to discuss the reappropriation of funds.
As you recall, $500 was initially approved for (1) setting up a
..;:)meter for water and (2) disking the land. Thanks to Urban
t:, the land was disked for free. At this time, we are asking
i;.it. the remaining money be reappropriated, to be held in trust
:)r t..he use of the Garden as needed. Here is a preliminary list
i -.ems we believe we will need the money for:
fee (estimated to be $100 to $150) for amending the Church's
.nsurance policy to add on the gardeners.
Neccessary gardening items that the gardening families
rcgether may not have, such as chicken wire (to defend
�.gainst rabbits), a wheelbarrow, a hose, stakes and
Jtring, and even some tools.
> fund for low- income families, to permit them to garden
,<i- '.zout paying the monthly fee for water.
volunteer Garden Manager (at present, Pat Kemper) would

. 1 -ded into walkways and paths, and individual gardeners are
.:pCiring their plots and planting. Thanks to the City of
°.ark and to the assistance of ,Till Rubin, who arranged for our
ne morning of a city dump truck, we now have on the site
ei.ght cubic feet of compost and mulch, donated by the Worm
and by Peach Hill Soils.
