ITEM MOORPARK 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, California 93021 (805) 529 -6864 AGENDA STAFF REPORT TO: The Honorable City Council FROM: Jim Aguilera, Director of Community Development;l DATE: January 12, 1993 SUBJECT: TUSCANY HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION REQUEST REGARDING THE NEGOTIATION WITH URBAN WEST COMMUNITIES The City Council heard a request by the Tuscany Homeowners Association during your meeting of December 16, 1992. The Tuscany representatives requested the Council's involvement in finding a solution to their disagreement with Urban West Communities (UWC) regarding the conversion of model homes to saleable homes. The Council proposed a meeting with UWC and one member of the Tuscany HOA. The association has now written (see attached) a formal request to have two members of the HOA present at the meeting. Since Council was very explicit about the number of representatives from the HOA, staff has placed this item on the agenda for Council consideration. Staff will be able to schedule a meeting with all parties concerned as soon as Council direction is given and the HOA supplies the names (if more than one) of its representatives in writing to staff . Recommendation: Direct staff as deemed appropriate. PAUL W.LAWRASON JR. WOZNIAK Councilmember Councilmember December 31, 1992 To: Honorable Council Members, City of Moorpark cc: Director of Community Development From: Craig Kuske, President Tuscany Homeowners' Association Re: Joint January Meeting with Urban West Communities and Community Development Committee On Monday, December 21, following the Council's request, the Additionally, the homeowners expressed some concern about electing only one representative, and agreed to formally request a second representative which would ensure that all the events occurring before and after June 15 are verified thoroughly. We do not feel that it is realistic for any single homeowner to present all the relevant issues to the Community Development Committee, just as, for example, we would not expect Tom Zanic of UWC to offer information on discussions at which he wasn't present. Please notify us in writing of your decision and also which personnel from Urban West have been invited and /or will be attending the meeting in January. If you have any questions, please call me or Chuck Fuhr. Again, we thank the Council for hearing our concerns and providing the opportunity to review the original Minor Mod approval. We hope that in preparation for our joint meeting, each of you will take the time to visit West Ranch and the Tuscany models (original and new) in particular. We look forward to working out a fair and thoughtful solution. S*nce , RECEIVED Craig Kuske JAN 0 6 City of Moorpark 1993 l `
