Gilbert, Director of Public Works DATE: April 28, 1994 (Meeting of 5-4-94) SUBJECT: Consider Approval Amendment for the Tierra Rejada Road DISCUSSION of an Appropriation and Budget Installation of Landscaping in the Median West of Spring Road The Tierra Rejada Road widening project is almost completed. The limits of that project extended west of Spring Road to the boundary of Tract 2865. That street widening project included the construction of a raised medians, but did not include the construction of irrigation and landscaping in the medians. The Tierra Rejada Road median landscaping project which was constructed several years ago, provided for the easterly extension of the irrigation system into the median recently constructed west of Spring Road. The easterly extension of that irrigation system and landscaping was recently constructed at a cost of $2,730. In that this area is not within the boundaries of Tract 2865, said improvements may not be charged to the Zone 2 improvement assessments which funded the median landscaping west of this area. The improvements were constructed under the assumption that costs would charged to an account funded by Gas Tax monies for minor street improvements. Later is was determined that such costs should be charged to the Spring Road/ Tierra Rejada Road AOC. It is necessary, therefore, to request this appropriation of funds and budget amendment to fund this work. RECOMMENDATION (Roll Call Vote) Staff recommends that the City Council approve an appropriation of funds from the Tierra Rejada Road / Spring Road AOC, via a loan from the Gas Tax Fund, and an amendment to the FY 1993/94 Budget [026-0-142-903-0004] in the amount of $2,730 for the construction of the subject improvements. trmed94 M-OOPPARK, CALIFORNIA City Cou CII Mve';n7 of-='5---_ t ACTION:4"Ams( By
