HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 2017 1018 CC SPC 6:00 MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California October 18, 2017 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held on October 18, 2017, in the Community Center of said City located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1, CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Parvin called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Mikos, Pollock, Simons, Van Dam, and Mayor Parvin. Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Kevin Ennis, City Attorney; Alison Krumbein, Sohagi Law Group (via conference call at 6:01 p.m.); Deborah Traffenstedt, Assistant City Manager; and David Bobardt, Community Development Director. 3. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 4. REORDERING OF, AND ADDITIONS TO, THE AGENDA: None. 5. CLOSED SESSION: Mr. Kueny requested the City Council go into closed session for discussion of one case under Item 5.B. and Items 5.0 and 5.D. on the agenda. MOTION: Councilmember Pollock moved and Councilmember Van Dam seconded a motion to adjourn to closed session for discussion of one case under Item 5.B. and Items 5.0 and 5.D. on the agenda. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote. The time was 6:01 p.m. B. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL — EXISTING LITIGATION (Pursuant to Paragraph (1) of subdivision (d) of Government Code Section 54956.9) City of Moorpark v. County of Ventura et al. (Real Party in Interest, Wayne J. Sand & Gravel, Inc.) (Case No. 56-2016-00482408-CU-WM-VTA Present in closed session were Councilmembers Mikos, Pollock, Simons, Van Dam, and Mayor Parvin; Steven Kueny, City Manager; Kevin Ennis, City Attorney; Alison Krumbein, Sohagi Law Group; Deborah Traffenstedt, Assistant City Manager; and David Bobardt, Community Development Director. The Council reconvened into open session at 6:35 p.m. Mr. Kueny stated only Item 5.D. was discussed and there was no action to report. 6.
