ADJOURNMENT: All writings and documents provided to the Teen Council regarding the agenda items are available for public inspection at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center public counter located at 4550 Tierra Rejada Road during regular business hours. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:07 p.m. by Teen Councilmember Nicolette Sichmeller. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ahmad Salman. 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Nikhita Buddhiraju, Vicky Chen, Samuel Cuilty, Raquel Frank, David Gutierrez, Delia Hamm, Simran Jewan, Brandon Jimenez, Trisha Khandelwal, Ahmad Salman, Nicolette Sichmeller, Neha Thiyagarajan Absent: Caroline Gratke, Brooke Johannessen, Bridgette Pulimootil Staff Present: Recreation Supervisor, Michael Ramirez 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 5. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS: A. Welcome and Introductions Members shared their names, schools, and played two truths and a lie. B. Overview of Meeting Rules and Procedures Teen Councilmembers received a copy of the City Council Policies Resolution — Policy 6.7: Teen Council, which they read and discussed. Staff member, Michael Ramirez, gave a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the Brown Act. Teen Councilmember Expectations Teen Councilmembers were given an opportunity to discuss in further detail their duties and responsibilities, as described in the City Council Policies Resolution — Policy 6.7: Teen Council. D. Upcoming Programs and Events Staff member, Michael Ramirez, gave a synopsis of the upcoming Open Mic Nite and Haunted High Street events. Teen Council had a discussion about their involvement in Country Days. E. New Programs and Events Teen Councilmember Sichmeller proposed a new lip sync battle event. Due to time constraints information regarding the teen council program budget was tabled until next meeting. F. Teen Council Q & A Due to time constraints Teen Council Q & A was tabled until next meeting. 6. ANNOUNCEMENTS/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS The proposed lip sync battle event was added as a future agenda item. 7. CONSENT: A. Approval of May 3, 2017, Regular Meeting Minutes. MOTION: Councilmember Hamm moved and Councilmember Jimenez seconded a motion to approve the Consent Calendar. The motion carried 12 - 0. 8. ADJOURNMENT: Councilmember Sichmeller adjourned the meeting at 6:14 p.m. Michael Ramirez, Recreation Supervisor
