SUBJECT: Consider Rearrest for Use of Community Center for School
Board Candidate's Forum and waiver of Fees
BACKGROUND
The Moorpark Women's Fortnightly organization is sponsoring a
Candidate's Forum for those seeking office on the Moorpark unified
School District School Board. The forum is scheduled for
Thursday, October 28, from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. in the Apricot Room.
This event will include opportunities for each local candidate to
present his/her personal views of the issues, as well as answer
questions from the floor. The forum will also have a discussion
regarding Ballot Initiative #174.
This activity is also being co -sponsored by the League of Women
Voters, Moorpark Rotary, Moorpark Schools Parents Group, Moorpark
Senior Citizens, Inc., and WOMEN. This is a non -partisan
activity.
The Moorpark Women's Fortnightly organization is requesting a
waiver of any fees related to the use of the Community Center.
They also request that there be television coverage of this public
service event.
The cost to rent the Apricot room for this activity would be
$140.00, which includes set up and clean up costs. The cost for
Video Max to tape and televise the event would be $150.00, since
it is not an official city meeting as provided for in the Videomax
contract.
