OVERVIEW This requests approval of a contract with Safety Striping Service, Inc. for the striping of stop limit bars and legends throughout the City. DISCUSSION In September 1992, the City entered into a contract with Safety Striping Service, Inc. (not to exceed $10,000) for miscellaneous striping services. Since September, a total amount of $3,067.20 has been expended for striping of school crosswalks and other striping services. It is recommended that the $6,932.80 remaining in this contract be available for miscellaneous work as needed. Staff surveyed the entire City and developed a stop limit bars and legends needs list. Approximately 4428 linear feet of stop limit bars and 630 characters are in need of stripping. A bid was received in the amount of $5,900.40. It is the intent of staff to also develop a striping needs list for lane lines and bike lines throughout the City to be done in the near future. The contract costs for the City Manager Approved Contract ($10,000) and for the subject project ($5,900.40) totals $15,900.40. This amount is still under the total annual budget for street striping of $25,000. PAUL W. LAWRASON JR. JOHN E. WOZNIAK SCOTT MONTGOMERY BERNARDO M. PEREZ ROY E.
