Reynolds Jr., Administrative Services Manager DATE: October 2, 1992 SUBJECT: Consider the Formation of a Senior Advisory Council On September 16, 1992, City Council directed staff to report back on October 7, 1992, the recommendations of the Public Works /Facilities Committee (Committee) concerning the formation of a senior advisory council. Research is still being conducted by staff for Council and Committee consideration of this matter, and therefore a report has not been prepared. Since receiving authorization by the Council to meet with the Committee, (September 16, 1992), staff has been soliciting input from other agencies to compare options. By -laws, ordinances and operating procedures from cities with existing senior advisory councils and senior centers have been received from several different cities. Staff has continued to meet with representatives of Moorpark Senior Citizens, Inc, concerning transition matters. Using the information from other cities and input from the community, staff will prepare the information for consideration by the Public Works /Facilities Committee to evaluate other options. The Committee is scheduled to discuss this matter on October 5. Staff Recommendation That the City Council continue this item until October 21, 1992. CI Iy Counc' of 99`— ACTION: 42- By� � PAUL W.
