HomeMy WebLinkAboutAGENDA REPORT 1994 0302 CC REG ITEM 08DITEM R- t), AGENDA REPORT TO: The Honorable City Council -- FROM: Christine Adams, Director of Community ServicM -K. DATE: February 22, 1994 (Meeting of March 2, 1994) SUBJECT: Consider Retention of Sunridge Landscape Maintenance, Inc., as the City's Contracted Landscape Maintenance Service for 1994 -95. The contract for landscape maintenance for city parks, parkways, and medians is an annually renewable contract. The contract with Sunridge Landscape Maintenance, Inc., expires on June 30, 1994. The contract for landscape maintenance was last bid in 1991. The contractor has agreed not to increase his base costs for 1994 -95. Increases in the contract will only be made with additions to the scope of work as determined by the city. The contractor has identified that due to recent reforms in worker's compensation and recycling of green waste, he is able to maintain the current level of service without any increase in his fees to the City. The contractor has also notified the City that any Cost of Living increases in 1995 -96 will be only a 29/o increase. (see attached letter of intent). Staff feels that the contractor has provided the city good service. We have also developed a contract administration and inspection program and a working relationship with this contractor. Staff recommends renewing the contract with Sunridge Landscape Maintenance, Inc. for another year. The existing contract provides the city the opportunity to withhold the cost of the specified service if the work is not done satisfactorily, and a 30 day cancellation period for any reason. LOTWIG] UV -IUV IN Q1 6M • Approve Retention of Sunridge Landscape Maintenance, Inc., as the City's Contracted Landscape Maintenance Service for 1994 -95, and Authorize the City Manager to extend the contract consistent with existing terms.
