DISCUSSION Section 1 of Resolution No. 87 -371 (see exhibit 'A') established a three (3) ton weight limit on Peach Hill Road. The need for this Resolution no longer exists since Resolution No. 93 -977 establishes truck routes and prohibits vehicles in excess of three (3) tons from all other streets. Therefore, it would be appropriate to rescind Resolution No. 87 -371 and abate proper vehicle weight limitation signage on Peach Hill Road, including advance warning signs giving such notice. RECOMMENDATION Adopt the attached Resolution rescinding Resolution No. 87 -371 oertaininq to vehicle weight Limitations on Peach Hill Road. Dennis Delzeit, City Engineer;ry7, z DATE: January 28, 1987 SUBJECT: Vehicle Weight Limit on Peach Hill Road BACKGROUND INFORMATION Although the City Engineer has coordinated with local developers in an effort to prevent construction traffic from traveling Peach Hill Road, the problem has continued to persist. The trucks traveling Peach Hill Road consist primarily of those delivering materials to construction sites in the area. Although City representatives consistently request the operators of these vehicles to use alternate routes, full compliance is difficult to obtain because it is not legally requ.ireA. To resolve the matter, it is suggested that a three ton weight limit be implemented on Peach Hill Road between Moorpark Road and Christian BarrE °tt Drive (refer to Exhibit "A"). Except for vehicles making deliveries on Peach Hill Road within the restricted area, vehicles heavier than three tons would be prohibited from 'raveling Peach Hill Road. Lt. Brown agrees with this propc)sa'- and believes that the violators could then be cited. It is recommended that signs be posted on Moorpark Road in advance of the intersection with Peach Hill Road and on Peach Hill Road south of Christian Barrett Drive to warn motorists of the restricted area. It should be noted that the weight limit may prove necessary only for the duration of construction in the Peach Hill and Mountain Meadows areas. When this construction is substantially complete, the Council may wish to consider removal of the signs. 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, California 93021 (805) 529 -6864 Page -2- RECOMMENDED ACTION Adopt Resolution No. 87 -,) establishing a three ton vehicle weight limit on Peach Hill Road between Moorpark Road and Christian Barrett Drive.
