FROM: Christine Adams, Director of Community Servic
DATE: April 21, 1995 (Meeting of May 3, 1995)
SUBJECT: Consider Accepting Budget Revision to 1994-95
Senior Center Services Grant (Tile iil ) for 92.452
for Purchase of New Computer and Printer
BACKGROUND
The City of Moorpark has been notified that it is a recipient
of one -time -only funds as part of the current Senior Center
Services Title III grant for the Senior Center Coordinator.
Annually, the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging determines
if there is a surplus in the existing grant fund programs,
and offers it to current grantees for one -time -only capital
expenses that would benefit the Senior Center programs.
Staff, with the concurrance of the Senior Advisory Committee,
identified a need to replace the obsolete computer at the
Senior Center with a new Macintosh computer and printer that
could interface with the other personal computers in the
Community Services Department. This expenditure will save
the Department time in preparing reports, as the Senior
Center Coordinator will be able to prepare her own reports,
without additional impact on the Administrative Secretary for
Community Services. Additionally, several volunteers at the
Senior Center have been identified who have a working
understanding of the Macintosh system and will be able to
assist the Senior Center Coordinator in preparing some
documents, when needed.
The cost of the computer, printer, and appropriate cables is
$2,452.00. The VCAAA has notified the City that these funds,
for the above mentioned purpose, have been approved by the
County Board of Supervisors.
Staff is recommending that the City Council formally accept
the funds.
RECOMMENDATION
Accept budget revision to 1994-95 Title III Senior Center
Services grant, in the amount of $2,452.
