Before tragically losing his life in 2016 while responding to the Canyon Fire near Lompoc, Mr. Osler served the Moorpark Community admirably and heroically as a member of the team at Ventura County Fire Station No. 42, located here in downtown Moorpark. Naming the portion of U.S. Highway 101 between South Seaward Avenue and Vista Del Mar Drive would be a very appropriate way to memorialize Mr. Osler and his 18 years of service with the Ventura County Fire Department. For this reason, the City of Moorpark supports ACR 135.
