North High Street Widening Project
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The City Engineer has prepared Plans, Specifications,
Contract Documents and an Engineer's Estimate for the
construction of the North High Street Widening Project. As
shown on the attached vicinity map, this project extends
along the north side of High Street from PD-1050 (Short) to
Magnolia Street. This project will provide new curb, gutter
and sidewalk and about three feet of street widening
throughout the project. This alignment and scope of work
was previously approved by City Council on May 18, 1988.
During construction, the contractor will also be overlaying
the northern half of High Street to blend the new curb and
gutter improvements in with the existing street. A typical
crossection of this work is also attached.
Also during construction, certain on-site work will be
necessary due to the proposed project. This work involves
primarily the reconstruction of driveways at a few locations
along the project. A sample letter is attached that will be
sent to each homeowner notifying them of the proposed
project and the possibility of on-site work.
The Engineer's Cost Estimate for this project is $188, 900,
including contingencies.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS
FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF NORTH HIGH STREET
(SPRING ROAD TO MAGNOLIA STREET)
March 30, 1989
Between approximately June 1 and July 28, 1989, the City of
Moorpark will resurface the existing pavement of your street
with asphalt concrete, install new concrete sidewalks and
construct new curb and gutter between Spring Road and
Magnolia Street
The new street improvements will provide a smoother, longer,
lasting driving surface in addition to improving the
aesthetics of High Street. Your driveways will be
reconstructed as may be necessary to meet new curb
elevations and utilities will be relocated as necessary to
construct the improvements.
It will be necessary to close, or partially close your
street on the days the work is done. We will post temporary
"no parking" signs at least 48 hours in advance of the
scheduled work. This will prohibit parking between 7 : 00
a.m. and 6: 00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, it may be
necessary to reschedule the contractor's operation.
We ask your cooperation by having your automobile parked in
a location where it will not be necessary to drive on the
street during the construction period.
For your children's safety, we ask that you do not allow
them to play in or around construction zones.
We regret any inconvenience that this work may cause you.
We thank you for your cooperation in assisting us to
maintain your street in the most efficient way possible.
If you have any questions regarding this project, please
call Mark Wittgraf, City Engineering Office, 523-1690.
Very truly yours,
CITY OF MOORPARK
