SUBJECT: Consider Authorization of Recordation of the Notice of
Completion for the Construction of a Double Left Turn
Lane (North -to -West Traffic) and a Raised Center Median
on Spring Road South of Los Angeles Avenue
1. In February of 1995 the City Council approved the subject
project and authorized staff to proceed with the project
design.
2. In September of 1995 the City Council approved the plans and
specifications for the subject project.
3. In December of 1995 the City Council awarded a contract to
G. T. Equipment, Inc. for the construction of the subject
project.
DISCUSSION
A. Design
The subject project provided for the construction of a raised
center median on Spring Road south of Los Angeles Avenue, the
construction of a double left turn lane for north -to -west left
turners and the re- striping of the street as required to
accommodate the revised design. In addition to the
requirements set forth in the plans and specifications, the
contractor was also required to comply with certain
requirements set forth in a Caltrans Encroachment Permit.
B. Completion
All of the required work has been completed and it is now
appropriate to accept the improvements and record a Notice of
Completion.

is as follows:

RECOIUMDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1. Accept the subject work as completed.
2. Instruct the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion for
the project.
3. Authorize the release of the retention upon satisfactory
clearance of the thirty five (35) day lien period.
