Lillian, per our conversation on September 24th I request the followlg issue be put on the city council agenda on October 16th. The city of Moorpark and Moorpark Unifiers Schooi district have beery irr nsgotiatim to ~move the existing crossing- guard from the corner of Moorpark roast and Pointexter to Peach Hill Road and Spring Road or to provide an additional crossing guard to protect the middle school students of Mesa Verde Middle School at the Peach Hill Road and SprirLq Road sites. Currently; as alemporary sohAon Moorp ark tJrrifiert Schoot District is proaidirq a campus aid to act is crossing guard at Peach Hill Road and Spring Road. We at the C.A.S.A. Verde parent group are extremely concerned about the safety of the 350 -500 students who cross at that corner-in the morning and afternoon. in the morning cars turning left from Peach W Rust onto-Spring"-Road-tend-to- speed wto- make the light. Cars coming down Spring Road from The Tierra Rejada direction across Peach W W down toward-New b.A. Avenue-tend -aim, to speed-up tQ ma#the light and cars coming up Spring Road either turning left up toward to school or right down Peach Hill Road make for a very dangerous situation for the students walking to school or coming home at 3:18 when school is out. A permanent soiution to the crossing guard issue-is criticat ants we feeYa pdo is hearing on the subject at a city council broadcast will help move the issue to fruition.
