Subject: Consider the Acceptance of a Grant Deed for Additional
Required Public Right Of Way on the East Side of Park
Lane, South of Los Angeles Avenue.
BACKGROUND•
The previous right of way width of Park Lane was 46 feet. As a
condition of development Simi Valley Bank was required to
dedicate an ultimate right of way of 68 feet to the City of
Moorpark. To accomplish this an additional 22 feet of right of
way was necessary. 18 feet of this required additional right of
way was previously owned by and subsequently granted to the City
by a Mr. Rosencrantz. The remaining 4 feet is owned by Simi
Valley Bank and is being granted to the City at this time. This
additional 22 feet of right of way is needed to provide a paved
street width of 52 feet and an 8 foot wide sidewalk along the
bank's frontage to Park Lane.
The street improvements will include a 2 foot wide raised median,
8 foot wide sidewalk, curb, gutter, relocation of a signal pole
and lane striping on Park Lane to provide northbound left and a
combined right/thru lane.
Simi Bank has retained an engineer to prepare a legal description
for a Grant Deed for widening Park Lane an additional 4 feet on
the east side to an ultimate 68 foot right of way. City
Engineering has reviewed the description and finds it adequate
for recordation. A copy of the executed Deed is attached.
RECOMMENDATION•
Direct the City Clerk to record the subject Grant Deed from Simi
Valley Bank to the City of Moorpark.
