SUBJECT: Consider Resolution No. 97- 4y ,5Amending the FY 1996/97 Budget and
Appropriating Funds for Poindexter Park Access Road Improvement
Executive Summary
The City Council is being asked to approve the attached resolution amending the FY 1996/97
budget and appropriating $1,800 from the Park Improvement Fund balance to apply an oil base to
the Poindexter Park access road
Background
At the November 6, 1996, City Council meeting, Council requested that staff return on November
20 with an agenda item appropriating funds to apply an oil base to the Poindexter Park access
road. Following that meeting, staff had discussions with Western Oil Spreading Service regarding
the possibility of arranging the aforementioned service at no or a significantly reduced cost, if and
when Western had excess materials remaining from another job As a result, staff did not return
on November 20 to appropriate funds.
Since that arrangement never materialized, staff is requesting that the City Council appropriate
$1,500 to perform the access road improvement. With the activity at Poindexter expected to
increase in the next several weeks due to the beginning of Moorpark Little League's season, staff
proposes to proceed with the work by April 7
It is recommended that the aforementioned work be funded from the Park Improvement Fund
(212) balance. Poindexter Park is in Park Improvement Zone I (Central), which has an estimated
fund balance of $268,000
Recommendation (Roll Call Vote)
Staff recommends that the City Council approve Resolution No. - 97- IZ9.s, amending FY 1996/97
budget and appropriating funds for Poindexter Park improvement
