Consider Approval of a Certificate of Acceptance for Certain Slope Easements South of Wicks Road BACKGROUND On February 10, 1997, the City Council approved Certificates of Acceptance for easements across the northerly portion of three properties located on the north side of Everett Street. The grantors of those easements and the owners of the affected properties are Mr. and Mrs. Cho. Those easements were required to construct certain retaining walls and related improvements to be constructed at the toe of the slope supporting Wicks Road. Those improvements are a part of a slope stabilization project being undertaken by the City. f DISCUSSION A. Access/ Maintenance Easements The attached Easement Deeds grant to the City the right to access the construction site at the tow of slope, and to provide for the future maintenance of the slope stabilization improvements [see Exhibit 1 for location of affected properties]. �t. . . Pursuant to City Council direction, bids for the construction of the Wicks Road Slope Stabilization Improvements, as well as certain other identified improvements to be funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, are being solicited. It is anticipated that bids will be presented to the City Council for award of a contract in June. RECOMMENDATION Approve Certificates of Acceptance for certain Access /Maintenance Easements across certain property located on the north side of Everett Street, granted by Mr. and Mrs. Cho, and direct the City Clerk to send said easements and certificates to the County Recorder for recordation.
