CONSIDER APPOINTMENT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION
Background
Former Planning Commissioner Paul Norcross resigned effective.
November 30, 1997, and the City Council requested that an
advertisement be published to request interested persons to submit
an application for appointment to the Planning Commission to fill
the unexpired term ending December 1999. Applications were due on
December 29, 1997, at 5:00 p.m. Five applications were received,
and a copy of each application was previously provided to the
Council for review.

The City Council adopted Resolution No. 97 -1417 on December 17,
1997, which sets forth the Council policies for citizen
appointments to boards, commissions, and committees. The Council
policies have been followed for the posting and publication of
notice of the Planning Commission vacancy. The Council's
Resolution also states that the Mayor shall make all appointments
to boards, commissions, and committees. The procedure for
appointments is as follows:
